Heckscher Museum of Art. The Heckscher Museum of Art is devoted to 19th to 21st century European and American art. There are more than 2000 works in the collection. Notable works are the landscapes from the Hudson River and Long Island Schools. In addition, the Heckscher features George Grosz’s 1926 large masterpiece Eclipse of the Sun, one of the most important paintings in 20th-century art, as well as other significant works by the Berlin Dadaist.
